This moorish katana-like sword is my version of the sword from the 80's movie Beastmaster. This is also one of my first forays into designing parts using 3d sculpting software. I designed the guard and pommel on the computer and then used my 3d printer to print those designs into plastic pieces. Those pieces were then finished up by hand and molded so that wax copies could be made, which were then used to cast the pieces in bronze.

The blade has four central layers of 1/4" 1084 and six outer layers on each side of 1/8" 15n20, for sort of a san mai look. The blade is hardened and tempered. The hilt and scabbard parts are all sculptural quality silicon bronze. The grip and scabbard are leather over a wood core.
